What Are We Leaving Behind for the Future?


There are moments in history that test the moral compass of all humanity. The ongoing genocide in Gaza, Palestine, is one such moment. It is not just a bombardment of a piece of land—it is a brutal assault on the collective conscience of mankind, a betrayal of Islamic brotherhood, and the unveiling of the true face of modern civilization.

Those of us alive today—what legacy are we leaving for future generations?
A shattered humanity, a silent ummah, and excuses wrapped in helplessness?

What Are We Leaving Behind for the Future “Gaza”

The Genocide in Gaza—A Stain on Humanity

Since October 2023, Israeli forces have been committing unspeakable atrocities in Gaza.
As of the latest reports:

  • Death toll: Over 34,000 Palestinians killed
  • Among them: More than 70% are women and children
  • Injured: Over 75,000
  • Displaced: Nearly 2 million people
  • Destroyed: Homes, hospitals, schools, mosques, churches—everything

And the world remains silent.
The United Nations issues statements, the OIC expresses "concern," the Arab League holds "emergency meetings"—and goes back to sleep.


The Silent Muslim Ummah—2 Billion and Powerless

  • Global Muslim population: 2 billion+
  • Muslim countries: Over 50
  • 70% of the world’s oil supply is controlled by Muslim nations
  • Military strength, resources, wealth—all exist

Yet, not a single Muslim country could protect even a child, a mother, or an old father in Gaza.

So the question arises—what are they doing?

  • Are they incapable?
  • Are they unarmed?
  • Are they paralyzed?
  • Are they deaf, blind, and mute?
  • Do they not have countries? Armies? Power?

Or have they simply lost their faith?

Where Are the Teachings of Allah and His Messenger (PBUH)?

The Qur’an says:
"Why should you not fight in the cause of Allah and for those weak and oppressed among men, women, and children, who cry out: 'Our Lord! Rescue us from this town whose people are oppressors'"
—Surah An-Nisa: 75

The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:
"Whoever among you sees an evil, let him change it with his hand; if he cannot, then with his tongue; and if he cannot do that, then with his heart—and that is the weakest level of faith."
—Sahih Muslim

What are we doing today?

  • We are not stopping it with our hands
  • We are not speaking against it
  • And our hearts—have they turned to stone?

The Mask of Civilization Has Fallen

In this modern era, those who speak of "human rights," "democracy," and "global peace"—
Where are they now?

They are silent.
In fact, they are arming the oppressors.
Their silence is complicity.
Their civility is a lie.
Behind the veil of "civilization" hides a face of savage hypocrisy.

This civilization will one day collapse—crushed under the weight of its own double standards.

History Will Judge Us All

A hundred years from now,
when future generations read about Gaza,
they will wonder:
“How did the people of that time allow such a massacre?”
“With 2 billion Muslims, so many countries, so much wealth—what did they do?”
“Were they blind? Were they cowards?”

We will not be there to answer.
But history will testify—and shame us eternally.

Conclusion: What Are We Leaving Behind?

  • We are leaving behind a humanity drowned in blood
  • We are leaving a story of a silent, disgraceful ummah
  • We are leaving behind a record of betrayal to faith and to fellow humans

If we don’t rise now—
It won’t just be Gaza tomorrow.
It will be our homes.
And no one will be left to say—“We are with you.”

We only pray to Allah for one thing—
That before we die, we see the fall of this oppression.
And that history may remember at least one line about our generation—
“There were a few who tried.”
